About Us
At Ionoptika, we are specialists in Ion Beam technology. Our aim is to constantly strive to deliver new and innovative technologies to power the discoveries of tomorrow. Since our founding in 1994, we have been one of the leading providers of high-performance Ion Beam technologies for surface analysis and nanofabrication applications. We are also experts in cluster Ion Beams for secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS).

HOW IT BEGAN
Our Story
Ionoptika first came into being when Managing Director Paul Blenkinsopp set up the company with two close friends. Building on his experience in analytical SIMS, as well as a strong academic background, Paul spotted an opportunity to fill a gap in the production and sale of Ion Beam systems.
Since then, Ionoptika has had a clear purpose: to enable transformative research through the power of Ion Beams. Their mission is to provide Ion Beam systems and instrumentation that drive discovery in biomedical, quantum, and materials science.

While we may be a smaller team, we are dynamic and constantly pushing ourselves to grow both in scale and expertise. Our customers have described us as brave, innovative, and pioneering. Over recent years, we have worked with external groups on two different Innovate schemes, as well as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, pushing new boundaries.
